Capt. Rabon

Captain Angela W. Rabon began her law enforcement career in 1994 as a reserve deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office before becoming a full-time officer with the Charleston City Police Department. Rabon joined the Sumter Police Department in 1997, where she worked her way through the investigations division to her current rank of Captain.

Rabon heads the Investigative Services Division, which conducts investigations concerning violent crimes, property crimes, financial crimes, juvenile delinquent activities, and oversees forensic/polygraph and crime scene matters. The agency’s Warrant and School Resource Officers are also led by Rabon.

About Investigations

  • The Investigative Services Divison, under the commanded of Lt. Angie Rabon, serves as the investigative branch to the Sumter Police Department. The division's mission and primary responsibility is to thoroughly investigate felony and serious misdemeanor crimes occurring within the City of Sumter and to identify, arrest, and successfully aid in the prosecution of offenders.

    The Investigative Services Division is represented by a group of highly motivated and dedicated detectives. The detectives work cooperatively with other divisions within the Sumter Police Department, as well as with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

    The desire of all detectives and officers in the Investigative Services Division is to reduce the rate of crime by arresting those responsible for committing crimes in our community and to provide support to all victims of crime.

    We have investigators on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
